About 58% of the Congolese population is under 24 years old, this youth represents a significant potential for the development of the country. However, the employment situation of young Congolese is unsatisfactory. 70% of young Congolese are unemployed and nearly 51.35% had no qualifications according to ONEMO (2011 stats).
The overall situation of great vulnerability of this segment of the Congolese population, aggravated doubly by the fall in the price of a barrel of oil and COVID-19, remains to this day a major concern for the government and the social partners. The empowerment of young people through entrepreneurship appears to be one of the promising avenues in terms of finding solutions so that young people can create their own business and subsequently employ other young people.
